You are the awareness who sways steadily underneath the things you hold with your hands. At times they will feel too heavy, for you are a reflection of light who has been given a name. Sometimes you have to burn it all down. Sometimes you have to walk backwards with your eyes closed to get back to the center of the spiral. The heart of it. The why. The purpose in your pulse. The flicker. You must first be willing to let it all go, to let it all in. So if you have to scream while you loosen your grip, scream. And let the pieces fall where they may. If your body cries out to create a new shape, bend. Breathe into the discomfort. If you wake up to salivate for the version of you who exists beyond the person who stands before you in the mirror, reach your hand out to them. Trust that they will meet you in time. And if you can’t see the way to them, trust that you in the present tense is all that is needed. Here. Now. Drop into the grit. There is a light. Spit your lungs out if you have to. Wail while you do it. But remember, it’s your beating heart that pumps blood into those resilient lungs of yours. If this life is an opening, what if the ache is your invitation?
